ONKO YAKI (温故焼)—Ceramics of Gifu Prefecture


 











清水温故 Shimizu Onko



This style of pottery originated in 1819. 
Pottery produced in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. It is said that it was founded by the Shimizu Heishichi at the end of the Edo period, and it is usually reddish brown and similar to Banko ware without glaze. (Okachiyama ware).
