Vintage China (various companies)
There have been numerous chinaware companies in Japan, many who have gone out of business, changed names or were incorporated into other companies.There are many that little has been written about in either English or Japanese that I can see. This section will be used to add pieces that fit into this category. If anyone has information feel free to post in the comment section.

is s.c made in accupied jopan a mark ?
ReplyDeleteI am just learning about the "Made in Occupied Japan" marks. It is very possible that the S.C. mark is valid. I will try to find out something about it and post here. If you have a photo of the mark you can send it to my blog email. marmiet23@gmail.com
DeleteI have a miniature cup and saucer with a mark consisting of an outline of a swan with two lines running from it's neck to just under it;s breast, which I perceive as water and curving underneath the words "Made in Japan". The mark is printed in gold or gilding. I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything in any of my reference books or online. Is it possible you know what I'm talking about?

I can't promise results but I can try to see if I can find anything. I really am just learning the export side of Japanese ceramics. I have focused more on the Japanese domestic. Each puzzle gives me a chance to learn more.
