The original kiln, Yazaemon of Arita began in 1804. The kiln was run by the Matsumoto family. The fifth generation began exporting to North America and Europe.
Gold Imari was produced by Arita Bussan from 1951, registered in Nagoya. (1959-1984)

My mark is clear or not glazed in gold but has written GOLDIMARI w symbol and hand painted..why??? Help brought from Japan
ReplyDeleteAs is noted in a number of places on my blog, I do not take personal queries. I am not sure why yours is not gold, unless the color wore off or something. Since a blog setting is hard to answer a question concerning something I cannot see it is probably best to try one of the Facebook groups dealing with Japanese Ceramics and Arts.
